At the 2023 HITEC show, the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) introduced new regulations for exhibitors and sponsors. These changes align with broader hospitality industry trends.

HFTP's guidelines aim to enhance engagement at the show. Announced in October 2022, the objective is a streamlined environment that fosters networking. Exhibitors must submit detailed engagement proposals in advance. HFTP CEO Frank Wolfe stated, “The landscape of hospitality is changing, and we must adapt our events to reflect the innovations and expectations of our community.”

Technology is now central to the exhibition space. Each exhibitor must include a technological element in their booth, aligning with the industry's digital shift.

Tiered sponsorship packages offer varying visibility levels, allowing smaller companies meaningful participation. This structure encourages diverse exhibitors, reflecting the hospitality sector's multifaceted nature.

HITEC also emphasizes sustainability. Exhibitors are urged to highlight sustainable practices, aligning with the industry's environmental commitments. The World Travel & Tourism Council reported that 76% of global travelers consider sustainability important.

As the hospitality sector emerges from the pandemic, it evolves with new technologies and practices. Wolfe remarked, “We are witnessing a renaissance in hospitality technology.”

Attendees will notice changes in the event layout, designed for better flow and accessibility.

Exhibitors have responded positively. Sarah Anderson, Marketing Director at TechSolutions, said, “These changes are what we’ve needed for years.”

HITEC’s approach sets a promising framework for future events, focusing on collaboration, technology, and sustainability. While adjustments are needed, these regulations represent a shift toward a more interconnected and innovative hospitality future.
