A digital globe greets attendees at the Skift Global Forum 2026, hosted at the Hudson Theatre in New York City. This event aims to chart the future of luxury travel, with executives and thought leaders sharing their visions. The forum, established in 2016, draws key figures from hospitality. The 2026 edition features speakers like Peter Cole, CEO of Accor Hotels, and Arne Sorenson, CEO of Marriott International. Their insights are crucial for adapting luxury travel to evolving consumer expectations.

Cole emphasized sustainability's importance, stating, "The customers of tomorrow will demand comfort with an assurance that their choices contribute positively to the environment." Hotel operators are increasingly focused on ethical luxury.

Sorenson highlighted technology's role in enhancing guest experiences. "We must leverage advancements to enhance the guest experience without compromising personal interactions," he noted.

Emerging markets are also a focus. The World Travel & Tourism Council reports that Asia-Pacific will see the fastest growth in luxury travel by 2028. Keynote speakers will discuss tailoring services to this demographic, especially in Southeast Asia.

Data analytics is another key topic. Chris Nassetta, CEO of Hilton Worldwide, emphasized, "Understanding our guests through data allows us to create tailored experiences that resonate deeply." This represents a shift towards data-driven service delivery.

Wellness in travel is gaining attention. Guests are seeking experiences that promote health, leading hotels to offer wellness programs. This trend shows luxury travel is about enriching personal wellbeing.

The forum will address brand loyalty and engaging discerning clientele. Attendees will explore strategies to adapt to global events, such as economic downturns or health crises. Insights shared here could drive industry-wide change.

The forum's influence will extend beyond its immediate audience, impacting established operators and newcomers. As luxury travelers become more conscious, the hospitality sector must meet these expectations. The insights from this gathering may shape the industry's future.
